Harry Belafonte is taking his grievances with the estate of Martin Luther King, Jr. public. The 86-year-old singer is suing for rights to three documents: an outline of "Casualties of the War in Vietnam" speech, the "Memphis Speech," and a condolence letter from President Johnson. he says were given to him by the civil rights leader and his widow, Coretta Scott King. Their daughter, Bernice King, disputed Belafonte's ownership when the documents were taken to Sotheby's for sale in 2008, but they were withdrawn from the collection and remain stored at the auction house.
