Disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein has been indicted on first- and third-degree rape charges, according to the Manhattan district attorney’s office. A grand jury also indicted Weinstein on one charge of a first-degree criminal sexual act. Earlier Wednesday, Weinstein’s lawyer said his client would not testify in front of the grand jury. “This indictment brings the defendant another step closer to accountability for the crimes of violence with which he is now charged,” Cyrus Vance, Jr., the district attorney, said in a statement.
