Has The City Been Canceled?

Is The City going the way of The Hills? Rumors circled Monday that the popular MTV series, a spinoff of the Los Angeles-based show, would not be renewed for another season. Fashionista guessed that blasé socialite Olivia Palermo might be “over” the show—ditto with Whitney Port, who is now “very serious about her fashion career.” But a source told New York magazine that while a decision on the show’s future has not yet been made, it’s unlikely that it will be renewed. One of the stars of the show, PR maven Kelly Cutrone, heard the news herself today, and tweeted: “I will wear pink for a week if that rumor is true.” Port, meanwhile, denied the rumors flat-out: “To my friends and fans,” she tweeted, “I want to clear the air and let you all know that the rumors that have been circulating about The City being canceled are NOT true!”
