Hawaii in State of Emergency for Zika

And dengue fever.

Hawaii has declared a state of emergency in order to fight mosquito-bornes illnesses including the zika virus and dengue fever. There have been more than 250 cases of dengue fever on Hawaii's Big Island and now there's concern that the same mosquitos transmitting this illness may carry zika as well. The state is now looking to get more funding for its mosquito control staff which saw a big cut due to budget needs in recent years.
