Hawaii’s Hurricane Iselle Downgraded

Much to the relief of Hawaiians and vacationers alike, tropical storm Iselle—the second tropical storm ever to make landfall in Hawaii—lost steam overnight on Friday and was downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone. There have been no reports of injuries, though for a while Iselle had 60 mph winds that knocked out power lines and damaged some roads and homes. Meanwhile, Hurricane Julio, a Category 2 is now making its way toward the islands but is expected to miss.
