The new Republicans hate health-care reform more than they hate the deficit, apparently: Their plan to repeal health-care reform—they call it the Repealing the Job-Killing Health Law Act—would add $230 billion to the deficit. The estimate comes from the Congressional Budget Office, which also estimates that President Obama’s health-care reform will save $143 billion from the deficit over 10 years. Although Senate Finance Committee Chair Max Baucus said "we can't afford" to add that much to the deficit, House Speaker John Boehner dismissed the CBO's analysis as "opinion," and vowed to continue with the repeal.
