The official who spearheaded the disastrous rollout of HealthCare.gov is now a top lobbyist for the health-insurance industry. Marilyn B. Tavenner was chosen Wednesday as president and chief executive of America’s Health Insurance Plans, a trade group that includes companies like Aetna, Humana, Kaiser Permanente, and Blue Cross. Tavenner will assume her new position Aug. 24. “This is a great opportunity,” Tavenner said. “AHIP has a longstanding reputation as focused on consumers and consumer advocacy, and being a leader in the transformation of health care.”
