Among the joy which followed news that all 12 Thai youth soccer players and their coach were rescued after being trapped in a cave for over two weeks, the widow of the diver who lost his life in the operation has spoken of her heartbreak. Samarn Kunan, 38, a former member of the elite navy SEALs unit, was the only casualty in an operation to save the team after monsoons trapped them in the cave. His widow Valeepoan Kunan, alongside an Instagram post of a black and white photograph of her husband, wrote Thursday: “I love you so much ... I miss you ... I love you like you are my very heart...from now on when I wake up...who will I kiss?” During the rescue, some Thais said on social media that the soccer team had been irresponsible in entering the cave during the monsoon season but Valeepoan said they shouldn’t feel guilt. “I want to tell the boys, please don’t blame yourselves,” the widow told reporters.
