Heat Beat Mavs in Game 1

The Miami Heat took the first game of the NBA finals, beating the Dallas Mavericks 92-84 on Tuesday night. LeBron James scored 24 points for the Heat, and Dwayne Wade scored 22. Mavs star Dirk Nowitzki scored 27 points, but tore a tendon in a finger on his non-shooting hand; he’ll wear a splint throughout the remainder of the series. The Mavs shot just 37 percent, their worst performance of the postseason.
