Herman Cain is a force to be reckoned with. A new Washington Post-ABC News poll shows Cain tied with Rick Perry for second place at 16 percent. That’s bad news for Perry, who has dropped 13 points since early September but great news for Cain, who has surged by 12 points. (Mitt Romney leads the poll with 25 percent.) A St. Petersburg Times poll of Florida, meanwhile, shows Cain just four points behind Romney, 24 to 28. Perry, meanwhile, has lost 16 points in the state, collapsing to 9 percent—behind even Newt Gingrich.
