HGTV won the bidding rights for the home featured in The Brady Bunch, and plans to restore the Southern California split-level to its former TV glory, parent company Discovery announced Tuesday. “I am excited to share that HGTV is the winning bidder and will restore the Brady Bunch home to its 1970s glory as only HGTV can,” said Chief Executive David Zaslav. “More details to come over the next few months, but we will bring all the resources to bear to tell safe, fun stories with this beloved piece of American TV history.” The Hollywood Reporter says price paid for the 2,500-square-foot home is still unknown, but that HGTV beat out NSYNC star Lance Bass. Bass took to Instagram on Sunday to express his disappointment, noting that he’d been told he had the winning bid—before learning that “there’s another corporate buyer (Hollywood studio) who wants the house at any cost.”
