Who said tech isn’t sexy. Hugo Barra, a top executive at Google’s Android operating system unit, is leaving the company for Xiaomi, the Chinese phone maker. According to All Things Digital, there’s a personal angle to Barra’s abrupt departure. Barra’s ex-girlfriend, a fellow Google employee, is reportedly now seeing the Google co-founder Sergey Brin, who recently split from his wife. It’s unclear how Barra’s departure could affect the growing success of Android, whose mobile operating systems hold down the largest share of the smartphone market.
