Where will Secretary of State Clinton travel first? A hot spot like Iraq? A loyal partner like Britain? Or…Japan? If the latest rumors are correct, Clinton will make her maiden voyage to Asia, stopping in Japan on February 13 and 14, according to Japanese news sources. Clinton will be on a “Seoul-Tokyo-Beijing and maybe Jakarta inaugural romp,” a source tells Foreign Policy’s Cable blog. The timing of the trip “demonstrates the secretary’s understanding that the locus of power in the world has shifted from Europe to Asia,” a former State Department official tells The Cable.
