Chris Lighty—the hip-hop mogul best known for managing the likes of 50 Cent, Diddy, Ja Rule, and Mariah Carey—died Thursday morning of an apparent suicide. He was 44. Lighty was found inside his Bronx apartment, and police sources say he died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The manager may have been dealing with financial woes; he was also recently divorced from his wife and reportedly owed $5 million to the IRS. “R.I.P. Chris Lighty,” tweeted rapper Fat Joe. “That man saved my life.”
