Los Angeles has shut down porn production after a performer tested positive for HIV. The Free Speech Coalition, a porn-industry trade group, learned of the test on Saturday and notified production companies Monday morning, asking them to voluntarily cease production until after all actors who performed with the infected person could also be tested. (The infected actor was tested out of state, so may need to undergo further testing in California.) In California, adult performers are required to undergo testing every 30 days and to show proof of a negative test before each filming, but activists are pushing to require condom use in adult films.
