Holidays May Face Toy Shortage

A shudder of fear just went through parents everywhere. Due to fears about consumer reluctance, many stores have ordered fewer toys, and toy shipments to the U.S. in the past six months are down two percent from 2012. While the major chains like Target, WalMart and Toys R Us say they should be fine, other stores say they are already out of certain toys (like the Rainbow Loom and Hog Wild’s Atomic Power Poppers). Retailers are likely worried that analysts are predicting revenues from holiday shopping to drop two percent, as 30 percent of shoppers expect to spend less this holiday season on toys.
