Home of Swedish Artist Attacked

Arson

Controversial cartoonist hit three times this week.

It’s been a rough few days for Lars Vilks, the Swedish cartoonist who drew fire for his depiction of the Prophet Muhammad as a dog. The artist has been targeted for the third time this week—this time with an arson attack on his home. When police arrived on the scene Saturday afternoon, they found windows smashed, plastic bottles filled with gasoline, and fire damage to the home’s exterior. On Tuesday, Vilks was charged and head-butted by a man during a lecture, and his website also seems to have been hacked. Vilks wasn’t home during the most recent incident, and no injuries have been reported.
