Another Country Just Cut Diplomatic Ties With Taiwan

Taiwan has lost another diplomatic partner—Honduras, which cut ties with the island on Saturday and established relations with Beijing. That means Taiwan is now recognized by just 13 sovereign states, including Vatican City, having lost nine diplomatic allies since 2016. Taiwan says that China wooed Honduras away with economic aid and that the Central American country had demanded billions to stay friends.
