Hong Kong police arrested three men following new clashes with protesters in the Mong Kok district early Thursday. TV footage showed police officers using pepper spray on dozens of pro-democracy protesters in the working-class neighborhood, in a confrontation that reportedly began when man used a camera flash to provoke an officer. A police spokesman confirmed that three men between ages 24 and 50 were arrested, including one who was taken to hospital with a head injury. The protests are in their sixth week, with no sign of resolution.
