Hope Solo, the star goaltender for the U.S. women’s national soccer team, will no longer face trial for domestic assault. Solo was accused of attacking her half-sister and nephew at a party back in June 2014. Solo claimed she was defending herself against her 6-foot-9, 280-pound 17-year-old nephew after they started fighting because she called him fat and crazy. Solo, who has won two Olympic gold medals with the U.S., was kept on the women’s national team despite the charges in advance of the World Cup later this year in Canada.
