House Majority Whip Steve Scalise’s condition has been upgraded from “serious” to “fair,” MedStar Washington Hospital Center said on Wednesday. “Congressman Steve Scalise continues to make good progress,” the hospital said in a statement. “He is now listed in fair condition and is beginning an extended period of healing and rehabilitation.” The Louisiana Republican was shot last week in Alexandria, Va., during a baseball practice for GOP lawmakers.
