Hotel in U.K. Schedules Swingers’ Holiday

If you like Downton Abbey but think that even with the dowager countess’s barbed comments, the show is a bit... tame, a luxury resort in Britain may have something more to your liking. Bovey Castle in Dartmoor will close its grounds next July and allow an American company called Shoes Only Travel to host something a bit more racy. The company has booked the entire hotel, with its 275 acres, to host 100 guests for a five-day swingers’ party in what promoters say involves transforming “fantasy into reality.” Complimentary afternoon tea will go to guests booking by Sept. 30. Not everyone is thrilled: One member of a leisure club based at the hotel said, “I hope this is a not a new direction for the hotel owners.”
