A suspected burglar who became stuck in the chimney of a Fresno home died after a resident lit a fire in the fireplace below. Local authorities said the unnamed homeowner heard a scream from inside his chimney after lighting the flame Saturday afternoon. An autopsy of 19-year-old Cody Caldwell shows he died of smoke inhalation and burns. It is unknown how long Caldwell was in the chimney before the fire.
