Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner urged immigrants affected by Hurricane Harvey to seek assistance from authorities, even if it meant risking deportation. Turner, an attorney, offered to personally represent any immigrants who might be threatened with deportation. "There is absolutely no reason why anyone should not call [for help]," Turner said in a Monday afternoon press conference. “If someone comes and they require help and then for some reason [someone] tries to deport them, I will represent them myself.”
