Toddlers Burned After Texas Road-Rage Shooting Sets Off Fireworks in Family Truck
‘HORRIFIC SCENE’
Two toddlers, ages 1 and 2, were critically burned after someone fired gunshots into their family vehicle causing fireworks to go off inside. The incident happened late Thursday in Texas’ Harris County and cops believe it was the result of a road-rage incident. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez described it as a “horrific scene,” according to Houston news channel KHOU. The suspect, a man in his twenties, is said to have opened fire on the truck after exchanging words with the father, setting off the explosives they had just purchased. The mother and father were taken to an area hospital by ambulance while their children were airlifted to emergency care via helicopter. Gonzalez said both kids have “severe” burns to their bodies and are in a critical condition.
