Saudi troops clashed with Houthi militias on their southern border with Yemen on Thursday, according to Saudi state media. The attack, which happened near the town of Najran, was the first on Saudi soil since a Saudi-led coalition began airstrikes on the Shiite rebels this year. The Saudi Press Agency reported ground troops battled back the rebels, calling in airstrikes for support. Earlier Thursday, a Saudi border guard was killed by a mortar shell near the border while UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said he was gravely concerned about the situation in Yemen.
