Actor Howard Hesseman—best known for playing far-out Dr. Johnny Fever on WKRP in Cincinnati and teacher Charlie Moore in Head of the Class—has died at the age of 81. His wife told The Hollywood Reporter that he suffered from complications from colon surgery he underwent in the summer. Hesseman earned two Emmy nominations for his work on WKRP and scored a slew of TV and movie roles as a character actor well into his senior years.
