The shock jock announced Thursday he has signed a new five-year contract with Sirius, quelling rumors that he might be planning to switch formats. Rumors of a Stern departure sent Sirius' stock price down 14 percent as executives predicted as many as 2 million customers might cancel their subscriptions if Stern left. The company has seen an increase in subscriptions as the auto industry has recovered, since a large percentage of its sales are tied to deals with automakers.
