Huckabee: Obama Raised in Kenya

Mike Huckabee, call your fact-checker. On Tuesday, the former Arkansas governor and 2012 Republican hopeful inaccurately said—twice—that President Obama grew up in Kenya. “[H]aving grown up in Kenya, his view of the Brits, for example, [is] very different than the average American,” Huckabee said on the Steve Malzberg Show. But Huckabee didn’t go so far as to suggest that the president wasn’t an American citizen, as “birthers” have done, saying that if there was something fishy, it would have been discovered by now. Obama’s father was born in Kenya, but the president was born and grew up in Hawaii. Huckabee's spokesman later told Politico that he "simply misspoke."
