But could he have done an American accent? Former bad boy Hugh Grant was deep in final negotiations Tuesday night to replace Charlie Sheen on the CBS hit sitcom Two and a Half Men, until he pulled out due to “creative differences,” according to Deadline. Grant was allegedly offered $1 million an episode—or $25 million per season. Deadline added that the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre, and CBS honcho Les Moonves are scrambling to cast an A-list star before next week’s TV upfronts. They are allegedly desperate to renew the show due to a series of contracts that were contingent on Sheen’s participation in the show. Sources also told Deadline that Moonves was encouraging Lorre to “swing high” for Sheen’s replacement.
