Human Remains Found in Phoenix Sewer

Discovered by workers responding to complaints of a backed up sewer.

A complaint about a backed up sewer line in Phoenix has led to the discovery of human remains and a homicide investigation. Sanitation workers found the body parts on Wednesday night after responding to a complaint from residents about the sewer line. On Thursday, police conducted a search of the sewer line and found the remains, including bones and body parts too big to have been flushed down a toilet. Police say they believe the victim was an adult, but the identity cannot be determined for at least another week.
