Thursday night's storm, which brought high winds and violent lightening, has left hundreds of thousands across the eastern seaboard without power. A woman in Pennsylvania was crushed by a tree as she tried to take shelter, and a 61-year-old man in Brooklyn was killed when lightning knocked down scaffolding onto him. "The trees were bending sideways, the sky just went really dark and green," said a photographer in Belmar, New Jersey, as the storm moved in Thursday evening. Some people in Broome County, New York were left stranded inside their home because of the number of trees that had had fallen outside.
