Huntsman Left Off Illinois Ballot

Illinois will hold its primary election on March 20 and the ballot will include all of the usual suspects—except one. Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich filed Friday, securing ballot spots for themselves and their delegate candidates, joining Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, and Rick Perry. But the ballot filled up before former Utah governor Jon Huntsman Jr., who's been gearing up for New Hampshire's primary for months, could submit his paperwork. In the Illinois GOP primary, presidential candidates run accompanied by delegates, the number of which speak to the contender's influence.
