The announcement made yesterday by Iceland regarding an eruption of one of its largest volcanoes has been retracted. “A team of scientists flew over the area yesterday and that revealed that there wasn’t an eruption taking place or any floods coming from the glacier,” Urdur Gunnarsdottir, a spokeswoman for the Civil Protection Agency, said Sunday. In addition, the aviation warning has been brought down from red to orange. The government is monitoring earthquakes near the volcano, however, as there is still seismic activity that may cause an eruption.
