A California man who allegedly stabbed nine people, some of them children and refugees, in an attack at a Boise apartment complex was charged with murder Monday after a 3-year-old victim died from her wounds. The Idaho Statesman reports that Timothy Kinner, a homeless man with “no real ties” to Boise, likely returned to the apartment complex Saturday night “seeking revenge for being kicked out.” There, he allegedly began stabbing victims who were attending the 3-year-old’s birthday. One victim has since been released from the hospital; the other seven still require care, and many are in serious or critical condition. Kinner, whom the Statesman reports had an “extensive criminal record” in Tennessee, is being held without bail. “This is an attack against those who are most vulnerable, our children,” Boise Police Chief Bill Bones told the Statesman, adding that this was the largest attack in department history. “It's untenable, unconscionable and is pure evil in my mind.”
