Republican Senator Pat Roberts may have survived a challenger during the primaries, but it now looks like he could lose to an independent in the deep-red state. Roberts lags behind Greg Orman 41 percent to 34 percent according to a new poll from Democratic firm Public Policy Polling. The news comes after Democrat Chad Taylor announced he’s leaving the race (though the Republican secretary of state is trying to keep Taylor on the ballot). Orman has said he will caucus with the majority party (currently the Democrats, potentially the Republicans), but has not made clear which party he would choose if he was the deciding vote.
