Ten years ago, Saffronart entered the modern art world with online bidding, and now it has joined the ranks of Sotheby’s and Christie’s. Saffronart started in Mumbai, conducting most of its sales online, but has expanded to New York and London locations. "Saffronart was able to see a market beyond boundaries," said Mukti Khaire, assistant professor of business administration at the Harvard Business School. Now, Christie’s and Sotheby’s have tried to get in on the action, holding expanded Indian art sales.
