Devyani Khobragade, the Indian diplomat whose arrest and strip search earlier this year caused a diplomatic spat between the U.S. and India, has been indicted again and will be arrested if she returns to the United States, said federal prosecutors. Khobragade is charged with one count of visa fraud and one count of making false statements for lying on a visa application about how much she paid her housekeeper. The original indictment was dropped by a federal judge who said she was protected under diplomatic immunity at the time. Khobragade’s attorney declined comment on Friday, saying in a statement, “The government of India will respond in due course.”
