The creator of an incendiary float in the 2016 Aurora Farmer’s Fair parade, depicting Donald Trump executing Hillary Clinton, has apologized, saying it was just a “spoof” of both personalities. “Could have had Donald Trump in the electric chair. It was a tossup,” Linkemeyer told WCPO-TV, despite the float causing controversy in the southeastern Indiana town of roughly 3,750 people. Seated on the float—which was adorned with Trump-Pence campaign signs—was a Trump impersonator pulling the switch on “Clinton” strapped in an electric chair. In the front of the float stood a black-faced Easter Island head, labeled as Obama, along with a preacher and the personified Death carrying a scythe.
