Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan drowned in a bathtub in January after consuming five miniature bottles of spirits from a hotel minibar and a half bottle of Champagne, but there was no indication that she had intended to take her own life, a London inquest has found. The coroner said: “There is no evidence that this was anything other than an accident. There was no intention, this seems to be solely a tragic accident.” The singer appeared to be in good spirits in an upbeat voice message left for her friend and manager, Dan Waite, just hours before her death, in which she was positive about a new cover version of her song “Zombie” that another band, Bad Wolves, was recording.
