Ockie Fourie is the world’s youngest man. Or at least that’s what he goes by on Instagram.
The Cape Town photographer, 38, is a bit of a Curious George.
You might find him with his DSLR roaming around an abandoned concrete mill, slipping by a sleeping watchman at the city port with local Instagram crew, #CPTNaitz, or chatting up complete strangers on the outskirts of town.
His feed captures the beauty of Cape Town—sunsets, mountaintops, shorelines—with a mix of blues and grays, contrasted by warm earth tones. He has a thing for manholes. But his portraits of everyday Capetonians really shine.

The Daily Beast caught up with Fourie earlier this summer in Cape Town. He took our social media editor, Charlise Ferguson, to one of his favorite spots to shoot—an active metrorail track!—where they waited for an oncoming train to flatten a Nelson Mandela inauguration coin.
