The two-week, Olympic-style International Ballet Competition began on June 12, in Jackson, Mississippi, and will run until June 27. Competitors vie for gold, silver, and bronze medals, as well as cash prizes, scholarships and jobs. Founded in 1978, the IBC runs every four years in Jackson, and has become known as the “Festival of Dance.”
