Int’l Court Probes Israeli War Crimes

The International Criminal Court has begun a preliminary investigation into potential war crimes committed in Palestinian territories by Israelis, the courts chief prosecutor Fatou Bensouda announced from The Hague, Netherlands, on Friday. The Palestinian Authority joined the ICC last December after months of challenges and urge a November 2016 deadline to have Israel pull out from the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem. It could also wage charges against Palestinians for their violence against Israelis during the five decades of conflict between the two.
