Now available in nine international markets.

Steve Jobs can rest easy this long weekend: After being available for only two months, Apple has already sold 2 million iPads, the company reported on Monday. The gadget hit stores in nine international markets this weekend, causing mobs outside Apple stores in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, and the U.K. (The company did not give a geographic breakdown of sales.) Apple officials previously reported first-month sales of one million iPads in the U.S. alone—a rate faster than the iPhone. Meanwhile, an iPad knockoff called the "iPed" has been released in China at a much more accessible price of $150.
