At long last: Verizon Wireless will start selling the Apple iPhone in January, two people familiar with the plan tell Bloomberg News. Verizon is the country’s largest mobile-company and iPhone fans have long hoped for an alternative to AT&T’s congested network. The relationship between Apple and AT&T has seemed fraught in recent months, as AT&T allowed a major iPad security breach and was unable to handle the demand for the new iPhone 4.
