Iran Goes Atomic

Watch Out

Intelligence agencies warn of new nuke sites.

Intelligence officials are alarmed by an Iranian official’s recent claim that his country is planning two new nuclear enrichment sites inside mountains. The revelation comes at a critical point in the Obama administration’s effort to increase sanctions against Iran. While concern has heightened, American officials still believe it would take Iran one to four years to have the ability to construct a nuclear weapon. Sources tell The New York Times that Iran was in the process of making new equipment to enrich uranium and that equipment is no longer accounted for at the plant that international inspectors normally visit.
