Iran Prez Tweets Deal, Then Deletes

Expected to speak soon.

Someone on Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s social-media team is about to lose their job after his official Twitter account announced a nuclear deal. “#Irandeal is the victory of diplomacy & mutual respect over the outdated paradigm of exclusion & coercion. And this is a good beginning,” he tweeted before deleting it. He then posted a revised version, adding an “if”: “If #IranDeal, victory of diplomacy and mutual respect over outdated paradigm of exclusion and coercion. And this will be good beginning.” Rouhani is now expected to speak at 1:30, likely about the nuclear negotiations.
