Iran has released a cargo vessel detained by its authorities last month, its official news agency reported. The Marshall Islands-registered MV Maersk Tigris had been taken to the port of Bandar Abbas, but Maersk spokespeople couldn’t confirm the release to the Associated Press. Early reports that the vessel was an American ship caused minor international panic, and U.S. ships can now be accompanied by Navy vessels in that region.
