Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is finally stepping down. Shiite lawmakers said Maliki, who previously refused to relinquish power, agreed to step down after a meeting of Dawa party members in Baghdad late Thursday. He will now support the nomination of Haider al-Abadi as the next prime minister. Maliki is expected to announce his endorsement in a speech Thursday night.
