Isaac has landed. The tropical storm hit eastern Cuba Saturday night, destroying at least two homes and knocking down trees and power lines. In Haiti, where thousands are still recovering from the disastrous earthquake two years ago, four people were killed in flooding, including a 10-year-old girl. According to the government, there has been “considerable damage” to farms and homes, and around 12,000 people have been evacuated to shelters. “They promised they were going to build us a sturdy home, and it never came,” an unemployed father of six told The Washington Post. “Maybe we don’t deserve anything.”
